Kindling goes deeper.
While most prenatal classes focus on medical information and the “mechanics” of birth, Kindling is a mental coaching program that helps you prepare emotionally and psychologically. It’s not just about what happens during birth — it’s about how you meet it. Your mind is your most powerful coping tool and together, we will train that “muscle” as much as we can. The program combines scientific evidence with powerful mindset tools, guided relaxation, and personalized support. I am fully present and available throughout, whether in a group setting or 1:1. In my online program, I offer monthly live Q&A sessions. -
Quite the opposite.
Kindling is designed to be nourishing, not demanding. The practices are simple, gentle, and integrated into your daily life — not another item on your to-do list. Most clients say it’s the first time in pregnancy they’ve felt truly calm and connected to themselves and their baby. This program is your space to slow down, breathe, and remember: you’ve got this. -
Not necessarily.
If you’re working with me 1:1 or in a group setting, I integrate the key practical and medical information you’d usually get from a conventional prenatal course — things like the stages of labor, common interventions, and postpartum care — into our sessions. This way, you get both the essential “what to expect” and the deeper mindset and emotional preparation in one place. -
Yes, absolutely — and this is very common. Prenatal classes are great at sharing information about labour, birth, and newborn care. What they often can’t focus on in depth is how you’ll work with intensity, how your mind and nervous system influence your experience, and how to stay grounded if birth unfolds differently than expected.
Birth coaching builds on what you already know and helps turn it into lived skills. We focus on mental preparation, emotional processing, deep relaxation, and practical coping tools you can actually use during labour. We also prepare your partner to support you calmly and confidently. Many people come to this work because they understand the theory — and want to feel more prepared for the experience itself.
If you don’t want to commit to the full coaching (be it one-on-one or in a group), please reach out and we can discuss individual sessions.

Not at all.
If you have a partner, I very highly recommend they participate — and many benefit greatly from doing so. But Kindling is designed to support you, no matter your relationship or support setup. If you don’t have a partner or prefer to prepare on your own (or with a doula, friend, or family member - who are also welcome to join us in this work!), the program can be adapted to your situation with just as much care and impact. -
In most cases, yes.
Kindling was created with people like you in mind — those who want to approach their (next) birth differently, with more preparation, emotional support, and tools to feel calm and in control. Together, we gently explore and reframe past experiences, so they don’t define your future. Birth can be healing, even after trauma. You deserve to feel empowered and supported every step of the way. However, if you suffer from severe trauma or PTSD, I highly recommend talking to a counsellor to work through your experience more thoroughly. I am deeply sorry if this is your experience. -
Yes, definitely.
A positive birth experience is not defined by the type of birth you have — it’s about how you feel during it. Whether your birth is vaginal, surgical, spontaneous, or induced, the Kindling program gives you tools to feel confident, calm, and informed throughout the process. We focus on what you can influence: your mindset, your preparation, your voice in the process, and how you experience your baby’s birth. And this program helps you move through the maternity care system more informed and empowered. If this is you, reach out to me and let’s explore 1:1 coaching since my group programs are currently focused on planned vaginal births. -
No — my role is not to push a particular type of birth, but to help you have a beautiful birth, no matter which path it takes.
While I personally chose home births, I support all birth choices. If you are hoping to have an unmedicated or low-intervention birth, you will benefit in particular from this coaching because that kind of experience is no longer the norm in our system and needs careful preparation. Generally, our work together will include exploring what’s behind your preferences. If fear, uncertainty, or misinformation is shaping your choices, I can help you work through that so you’re deciding from a place of confidence and clarity, not anxiety. What matters most is that you feel informed, safe, and in control of your decisions. -
No, unfortunately not.
